Building a FREE web site

I hope to help you get around all the hype. I have "Been There Done That" several times. There are some really good do it yourself free web building sites out there. I think I have found some of the best. My first mistake was building my first site without really knowing what I wanted to do. A do it as you go sort of thing. That is a No No, have a real idea of what you want your site to do and look like before you even start looking into a site.

There are a few questions you need to ask yourself.

Do I want to sell things? If this is the type of web site you want you need to decide what you want to sell. Your own items like a garage sale? Other items from company's like Amazon? Or things from a drop shipper.

Do you want a family photo type site to share all your pictures with the world?

OK So you have decided the type of site you want to build. I will take you through the steps I used in building the two I have online right now.

All you need is Pictures and a description of your item and you are ready to sell. One of the best things about this site is the fact that they will publish your items to Google once a week. There are no Bells and Whistles there but it is easy to use and has unlimited item display. Have a look at mine and you will see what I mean.

My other site is a general do whatever you want type of web site. http://The-Treasure-Chest.webs.com I chose to build a site that has quality free web tools. Tools that include Free web sites,Banner makers and much more. I am adding to it every day but is worth mention here because it is so easy to use. With that site you can put anything you want on the pages, from blogs to pictures to you name it. It will even help you with HTML if you need it.

I know you have heard that there is no free lunch.

That said, I know I didn't give you too much information above. The reason for that is simple, the way I see things are not the same as you do. If you are wanting your own web site you know what you want. I just wanted to give you a direction to start in. Both sites above are very good sites and they are free. Free is a big plus for your first web site. You are going to have to put in hard work to get what you want. But with easy tools and free sites what do you have to loose?
